Can you breathe under water?

As I lay in my hot deep bath, trying to make my body as weightless as possible, without sinking and getting my hair soaked (I cheat and push a toe against the tap); I try to re-capture the feeling of my dreams. That I can breathe under water.
Have you ever had this? The feeling that if you were to drown you would just relax and go with the flow………..
As I turned the corner in my PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT I became increasingly more and more curious about my life path, my destiny and how to switch the so called PSYCHIC switch we are all supposed to possess on/off at will. My dreams were more noticeable to me. The mere fact of how much detail I could remember, even days, weeks or months afterwards made them stick in my mind. Especially the ones were I can breath under water!
Questions, questions! Researching for answers and understanding, then more questions. Unbelievable. My brain was far to busy to fit in a little MEDITATION time to get the answers mind you. But still, I suppose the long way round is always the way I’ll choose.
If I remember rightly, it was around the time that my curiosity was being drawn towards the OUIJA BOARD, and around the time of constantly hearing my name being called, but yet no one was there! The exact same time I realised that if we are all here for a reason I want to get to work to find out what I’m here to do.
In between these strange goings on, my being able to breath under water dream became much more frequent and memorable. Obviously, there’s a message in there somewhere but there was no way I was cracking it. I looked in all the DREAM books.
Did you know that a meaning in a dream book is only relevant to the person who’s writing it or whoever wants to claim that meaning for them?
I didn’t.
For example, I kept dreaming of OWLS. The largest type you can get. Are they ‘the eagle owl’ correct me in comments if I’m wrong. And one particular dream was with my little boy. I wanted to take him up to the owl to show him it was almost the same size as him and to stroke it if he could.
Well each time for me, I interpret an OWL in my dream as learning and knowledge but the other week I remembered and looked it up. It said Bad Fortune or Illness. Well I can honestly say that it didn’t sit right with me. And there was nothing that stood out in my personal life at that time that could back it up. So, dreams are symbols (I always dream in animals) and that’s why they tell you to keep a journal of your DREAMS because that way you can write the significant symbol down and when you next dream of it you know what your subconscious is trying to communicate to you.
As for my being able to breath under water dream, well I was later to find out by a fancy ‘Dream Psychologist’ that to dream a dream like this suggests that the dreamer is exploring their SUBCONSCIOUS and PSYCHIC ABILITY.
It’s funny; I haven’t had a dream like that for ages now but I’ll always remember the feeling I got whilst having them.
A warm, weightless floating feeling.
To re-create it properly I have to turn onto my front in the bath, relax completely and then hold my nose just barely on top of the steamy water. So close if I was to sniff I’d probably suck up the water. When I’ve got it just right I just can’t explain how it feels, just relaxing, maybe it’s the smell ….. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s the oddest sensation and the closest thing to what I feel in those dreams.
I’d love to know if anyone else has had these kinds of dreams or if they’ve carried out their own weird experiments. By the lack of posts, I’ll get the hint. Seek HELP!

Until next time,
All lathered up & lovely,

Beverley x

I've dreamed I could breathe underwater with ease. I've only dreamed it a couple of times, at least that I can remember. The feeling was definitely exquisite and I can only feel it deep inside. In both dreams after I realized I could breathe underwater I would become so relaxed and joyous and would tell myself that I knew how to do it all along...that I was just rememebering my ability.

Perhaps we were once mermaids? hehe
I would always wake up thinking just maybe I could breathe underwater but to no avail!

I definitely think this is a spiritual awakening dream of some sort, perhaps indicating a progression on one's own spiritual path. I've had similar feelings of "awakening" in other dreams in which I remembered how to levitate, fly, and bend in very extreme yogi positions.

Just remember that a dream like the one you had is a good sign if you take pride in being a spiritual being connected to the eternal power of the universe.

Keep dreaming :)

Thanks for your comment Diana, at least I can know that I'm not the only one to dream about it.

It really is a strange but lovely dream. And I know what you mean about the feeling of actually being able to do it for real. Hence the bath experiment. Maybe you should give it a go and tell me what you think. lol x

I have a dream that i can breath under water all the time.I have no idea what it means but i can hold my breath longer than all my friends. So maybe that has something to do with it.I have had a crazy life and i long for peace so maybe those dreams are my brains way of calming down and being at peace.

Thank you for your comment. Isn't funny the way your mind tries to communicate. We know by having the same dream repeated that it is a message of some kind but what? is the question.

As a way to give you a little further clarification I chose a 'Fairy Card' to see what it says about your life right now. This is your answer.

BREAKING FREE
Sometimes we feel trapped by outside circumstances. For instance, we believe that financial or family obligations compel us to accept an unsatisfactory job. Or we're afraid to leave or fix an unhealthy relationship. Perhaps we feel that our family or spouse wont "let" us pursue life-enhancing activities. Then again, maybe we feel controlled by our addictions. The Fairies say that when we're responsible for ourselves, we're more responsible for others. That is when we are happy, our family, friends, children, and spouse enjoy being around us and are inspired by our strength and confidence. Pray for help in releasing your fears and in assisting you in breaking free.

I'd be interested on your feed back on this little reading.
Take care xx

Hi,

I have had dreams where I can breathe under water. I am drowning, or at least not too comfortable with being where I am (under water that is). But then I let go of all the worries and I can breathe.

I have this one dream that is my favorite and I would like to share it with you because I just thought about this dream (I saw it years ago), decided to search for some meaning for it on the internet and came across your blog. It's kind of a long dream, though.

In that dream I am walking past a large metal tank that has a door with a small round window. I go to that window and see that the tank is filled with water and somebody is inside it. I place my hand on the window and the person inside places his/her hand against mine. The next moment I am inside the tank myself, in the water. I am drowning, but then I start to breathe. And I get this feeling of happiness and peace. Out of my fingers and toes plants start growing. Long green plants, like ropes with leaves. And I am loving the experience. But then I hear that someone is in trouble and I know that to go help that person means I would have to tear the plants from myself as they would stop me from reaching that person. And I do this, choosing to - I guess - end my feeling of happiness and peace in order to save someone that is in some sort of trouble, somewhere.

I cannot remember If I got to that person. I hope I did.
